Tozer chpts. 12,13

Please go here if you want to see what I'm writing from.

12) In this chapter there is one paragraph that sticks out to me the most. On page 66, second full paragraph, it tells about one of the differences about the way people say the world In the Bible rather than the way we see it today. While we see natural laws, they saw God's glory. This paragraph hit me, and make me wonder why did things change. At what point did we as a people's lean away from religion, and tried to stand on our own two legs. It makes me sad that we have strayed so far from religion, and have plugged our ears with our own junk.

13) The same question has hit me on page 71 of chapter 13. It starts with what would happen if some watcher or holy one were to come to earth after spending glad sentries by the sea of fire. He would see our daily chatter as meaningless. What happened to the fear of God. The fear of The Perfect One looking at us in all our iniquities. I am very sad to see our world today where we fight over each other meaninglessly. Where we think we are so great that the tiniest thing like being cut off on the road or someone bumping into you just puts you into a rage. Where are we as a people today? I believe we are farther away from God than ever before, but why? The veil keeping us from Him has been torn, we can comet o him freely, but why are we so far off? Why do we no longer see God the way people of old did?

Tozer chapter 11.

On p. 62, middle of top paragraph, it talks about faith. I know this isn't what the chapter was about, but I read this and it struck me. Where it says, "Any faith that must be supported by the evidence of the senses is not real faith. I have heard similar things several times, and I always feel guilty because I fall into that trap of seeing to believe so many times. It gets really frustrating. It also reminds me that many things of God are not in our own ability to comprehend, so how can we expect those things to be shown to us through only five senses?

Tozer chapter 7.

Today I will be doing the same thing as on chapter 6, so if you have not seen the website I will be talking from, please go to the link in the previous blog.

1) Tozer quotes from C.S. Lewis where he sees time as a line with two end points on a plane stretching out infinitely, and God can see everything in time as one time. If this was so, then why did the Israels before Christ came have to live differently and by different standards as after Death? If time for God is one thing, why would one point have to live by different standards as another?

2) on p. 41, Tozer says that within us cries for life... I wonder if this is why people always try to put our knowledge onto other creatures, wether they be fictional or nonfictional. You are always seeing even things like toys and animals depicted as being able to think for themselves, and nit relying on animal instinct. Not too long ago I say a commercial for a new movie about what pets do when their owners leave. Those pets were depicted as being able to think, doing thinks like talking to each other and purposefully doing things like turning on the TV. I'm not saying animals don't have any way of thinking, but I am saying that we are constantly putting our abilities into other things, craving for other life. Now, I know most of this is comical, but we also are looking of life in space in a non comical way, so it can't just be jokes.

3) I am currently learning about ancient civilizations in school, but the fact that God is then and helping people then right now blows my mind. It's hard to think that God is answering every prayer at once. I think I now understand the phrase where to God 1000 years is like a day, and a day is like 1000 years

Tozer chapter 6.

As usual, if you are interested in the questions or topics I will be blogging on, please go Here.

1) Toward the bottom of page 33 of The Knowledge of the Holy, the last paragraph states that if every man were to become atheist, basically God just wouldn't care. Tozer says that it would not effect God in any way. This seems contradictory to the nature God has shown us. God is consistently helping us out and taking care of us. I do not understand this, and would like some insight to this.

2) At the beginning of the second paragraph on page 34, I love the phrase, "God does not need our help." So often do we want to "fix " God. We want to do it our way, for we believe that we know what needs to be done or we just plain out don't like God's plan, and so often do we realize that God has things under control. I often come to this conclusion.

3) This ties with 2, but I recently was dealing with something, and I decided that I was going to fix myself, but by the  end of it, I realized that if I just gave it to God, He would deal with it, and He did.

Tozer chpt. 5

I will be answering questions from the same place, so if you want to see them, please go HERE.

2) I dislike this, for this means that God is constantly having to pick up the mess I am leaving behind, but at the same time, I enjoy it because it means I am becoming a better person to better server God.

3) I understand sin as anything that goes against God's plans. I think Tozer touches on this when he starts with how man made himself the center of the universe, and not God. He also continues to touch on this throughout the chapter.

Tozer cpt. 3

Please go Here for the questions

1) I believe what Tozer is trying to say is that the heart may be lead by the spirit rather than being lead through the faulty thoughts of the theological mind.

2) I completely agree with this, and think it important to define terms like attributes and God's being, for if we don't, then we will be thinking differently each and won't be able to further our study of God's character.

Tozer chapter 2

Once again, if you want to now the questions I will be answering today, please go HERE.

1) i agree with this statement to a certain extent. I think he was trying to say that we often create our own concept of God, and that if we then use that as our god, we no longer have God, but just our image of a god, and that we can't have a full concept of God. I think we can come to know what God has for us, but not know God fully, for if we did, our human minds would probably explode.

2) I think Tozer would say that about most of the population, but with all of the movement of God in the past couple of decades, God has revealed himself for those who are looking. ass for God compared to Greek and roman gods, I have to say that it once again depends on the people you are talking about. Christians don't think God a little above them, but the only God, and far superior to any other idol. As for the others, God is either the thing they want to rid/get away from, or He is lower than their gods.

3) I agree with this, for even though people claim there is no God, they still "worship" something, whether it be a baseball player, or social media. I do see this in me, for when I start putting distance between me and God, I start drawing close to other things.

4) I think this is for good reason, for in the Bible, it refers to the church as God's bride. That is the only reason I think he'd refer to the soul as feminine

Francis de Sales

today i will be answering the questions regarding Francis de Sales. If you want to know the questions, please go here.

1) I love the one about spiritual sugar. It is so true that devotion sweetens your life. I can definitely tell a difference between when I am connected with God versus not connected. My days are a lot different in the way that I deal with things.

2)A) Because we cannot obtain perfection, I believe that he means that it takes all god and bad, and makes them great, and helps us with everything in our lives.
B-C) yes, I don't think that it is only possible, but is true. once again, there is a distinct difference between when I am connected versus when I am not.

3) i enjoy reading my Bible and praying, but what I struggle most about it is being consistent. I am currently working on being more consistent with my prayer life, and hope to get better soon.

4) i believe that I am a toddler to young kid in spirit and right now am learning how to understand the Bible, so my habits mainly consist of prayer and reading the Bible, and sometimes fast. Fasting is one thing that I am definitely working on.

Preface to the Knowledge of the Holy

My teacher has asked me to answer some questions regarding the preface to The Knowledge of the Holy. I have four questions to answer, and if you would like to see them, please go to www.spiritualformation.weeble.com
Thank you.

1. The problem Tozer identifies is that although we have grown externally in numbers, we have damaged our faith inwards. I agree with this, for several people believe in god, but aren't willing to submit their all to Him and follow Him as He has commanded us. It's really sad to see this happening to the Christian faith.

2. I think when he says "majesty of God", he is referring to God's glory and the way should see God.

3. Other losses consist of the way we see God and knowledge of God, and all of these deal with our concept of God, and it's really sad to see this happening over the years.

4. I'd have to say that things regarding education have gone both ways since Tozer's time. Depending on which school you go to your education and environment will be different. As for me though, I think I learn many things I would through that literature in a different and easier way. If more schools were like this, I believe Christian's all over the world would grow in God much easier.
